Transmediale - a selection of Short Films
MIC Gallery:
A selection of the best short films from Transmediale 2002 & 2003
Presented by the curator Thomas Munz
With Thanks to The Goethe Institut Inter-Nationes
Developed out of the Berlin Film festival in 1997, Transmediale is one of the most successful international festivals of electronic media art and media culture in Europe. It has developed into an interactive platform for artists, media theorists and scientists over the past 15 years.
Thomas Munz, curator for the video and image section of Transmediale will be presenting a selection of the best short video art works from the 2002 and the 2003 festival at the Moving Image Centre.
From political statements to slaughtered cows and music-like installations, the selection gives an overview of video art. You will see the infiltration of a hilarious live TV talk show and you will be able to discover the “European ideal” under lots of glamour and kitsch. What’s a Bedouin’s
preferred form of travel?
And can you portray someone in only 103 seconds?
The works will address, and maybe answer, some of these questions.
