Pollywood One03

    Pollywood @ Pasifika 2003

March 8 at Aucklands annual Pacific Island extravaganza - MIC presented Pollywood - a celebration of Pacific Island short film.

‘POLLYWOOD’ @ Pasifika 2003 ‘Pollywood’ is an effort to promote Pacific Island Film-makers within an art form that Pacific Island people are increasingly becoming associated with.

The Moving Image Centre recognizes the need to build an awareness amongst the Pacific Island people as well as the general public, regarding Pacific Island Films. ‘Pollywood² brings the films to you. The Moving Image Centre was established as a non-profit creative media arts organisation in June 1993. MIC promotes and exhibits innovative and challenging film, video, installation and new technology art.

We also act as a media resource centre for emerging and independent filmmakers and artists. Exhibiting the talents of award winning Sima Urale, with her film, ‘Otamaiti², and up and coming Director, Stan Wolfgramm with his film ‘Dots Death², as well as other Pacific Island Film-makers, all showcasing their work for all to see. This is a free event thanks to our sponsors, and an ideal opportunity for all who are interested, to come along and speak to the Directors involved and maybe even get some technical background on how films are basically put together, with our onsite editing suites that will also be available on the day. ‘Pollywood² is a unique cinematic Polynesian experience. Showcasing the best of Pacific Island Short-film to date.

    THANKS TO OUR LOVELY SPONSORS:
