MIC will officially launch its new gallery on Saturday March 10th, along with the first stage of our new look for our Galatos club & performance space.

MIC is committed to representing diverse cultural art forms, whether it’s moving image, digital media art, international DJ’s, VJ’s or local live bands. Our new gallery along with the Galatos re-fit seeks to encompass all this and more as we offer the community two distinct spaces to display their practice. Please join us for evening that celebrates our ongoing commitment to the community with an exclusive free performance by DJ Oof!

Federic Elalouf (aka Oof) has launched the DVJing phenomena in his native France. In 2003 he created the pinnacle of extreme audio visual mash-ups on the Cinemix album by remixing the most famous French soundtracks of the 60’s. Paying homage to film directors Godard, Tati and Melville along with composers Gainsborough, De Robaix and Morricone, Oof samples these fragments of genius into post modern ‘clips’ that are reinterpreted live by the art of the DVJ mix.

DJ Oof has worked with the electronic prowess of Howie B, Carl Craig, Sofa Surfers and Gonzales to reinterpret the original scores along with over 30 film editors to extract the cinematic virtuosity that arrives as both an historic rendezvous and a rare glimpse into the art of the future.
